The secret reasons Hillary Clinton is not doing well in the early results of the 2008 Presidential Campaign are these:
She's an unpleasant person.
People don't like the sound of her voice, which is gratingly irritating.
People don't like being talked down to by a know it all.
People don't think she is sincere.
She suffers a charm deficit, especially when compared to her husband.

She is faring poorly because the media is now dating Barack Obama. They are falling into the hands of Republicans by playing up the charisma of Barack Obama and his boyish fresh presence in national politics. In the end, he will be an Achilles-heel of the Democratic Party.
Mr. Ingersoll,
Thank you for your comments.
I note that you do not dispute the reasons I suggest for Senator Clinton's poor showing, but merely suggest an alternative explanation.
As a future United States Senator from the great state of Kentucky, I am sure you recognize how important personal likability is. Your loyalty to Senator Clinton is admirable, but most of us Republicans can't abide either her policies or her personality. At least Senator Obama is a pleasant fellow.
Mean spirited, Mike! And despite all the poor press, she fared quite well yesterday. And at least she is one of the very few of our congresspersons (as depicted in the aesthetically unpleasant photo) who actually read the Iraq study report.
I could go on and on about our patriarchal society and the sexism I perceived in the post, but I don't have the energy right now.
Ta Ta from your liberal Facebook pal,
Julie
